HORIZONS LEBANON
A GATEWAY TO THE MIDDLE EAST
Recent outreach activities in Lebanon have included evangelism, continuing Bible studies, humanitarian aid, subsistence farming, Arabic media programming, delivery, and more. These interactions have led to over 11,000 professions of faith and have deepened many relationships with our neighbors.
Beirut has long been a gateway to the Middle East for commerce and travel. In the past several years,
it has become a gateway for the gospel of
Jesus Christ.
Fifteen hundred years before Christ, Phoenicians developed city-states such as Tyre, Sidon, and Byblos as prominent centers of maritime trade and culture. Their influence spanned the Mediterranean, from Cyprus to the Iberian Peninsula and parts of North Africa.
Today, the gospel is spreading throughout Lebanon,
including those ancient Phoenician cities, and beyond. Through Horizons’ Middle East Center for World Missions in Beirut, contributors around the globe help spread the message of God’s love and mercy. That message goes throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and even further.
Horizons founded its first ministry center in Beirut in 2012, as refugees poured over the border due to the Syrian Civil War. Huge numbers of Muslims came to faith, creating a need to disciple thousands of converts
from Islam.
We began partnering with churches to help disciple these converts and train believers from all backgrounds to boldly proclaim, disciple, and equip others for the Great Commission in Lebanon, the Middle East, and beyond.
94% of the world’s Muslim population lives in the Middle East-North Africa (MENA) region—and they need to know Jesus.
At Horizons, we are committed to reaching them, discipling them, and equipping the Church to do the same.
In a country shaken by economic crisis, religious tension, and spiritual hunger, Horizons Lebanon is on the ground every day—meeting people with the love of Jesus through compassion, whether through providing humanitarian aid, discipleship, house visits, or street evangelism.
Our ministry teams, doctors, evangelists, volunteers, international supporters, and local churches are united in one goal: to see the gospel transform lives.
HOW WE SERVE
-

Evangelism is at the heart of all we do. Whether on the streets, in homes, at community events, or through one-on-one conversations, our teams are actively proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.
We meet people where they are—in every city, village, and context—offering truth, prayer, and the invitation to follow Christ. -

We don’t stop at evangelism—we walk with people as they grow. Through Bible studies, one-on-one mentoring, group gatherings, and regular follow-up, our teams disciple new believers deeply and intentionally.
The goal is to build strong, Spirit-led followers of Jesus who can lead others and bring their families and communities to faith. -

Every week, our local teams visit homes to disciple believers, share the Gospel with new contacts, and respond to spiritual or practical needs.
These visits often open doors to entire families, forming the foundation for long-term transformation. -

We partner with over 130 churches across Lebanon, helping them grow in outreach, discipleship, and leadership.
Through training, sending evangelists, and providing resources, we empower the local Church to rise up and multiply. -

Lebanon’s ongoing economic collapse has left families struggling for the basics. When resources allow, we distribute food, hygiene supplies, and other essentials—either from our ministry centers or directly during house visits—to meet urgent needs and demonstrate Christ’s love.
-

Since 2021, Horizons has provided free medical checkups and medication across Lebanon—in the North, Beqaa, Beirut, and Tyre.
Lebanese and international volunteer doctors and nurses serve with us, visiting at least twice a year to reach communities with compassionate care and prayer.
Horizons Lebanon is committed to reaching people for Christ. It’s a purpose with both spiritual and practical elements. Hearts are more open when physical needs are met.

THE LEBANON CRISIS FUND
Amid Lebanon’s economic collapse, the outbreak of COVID and subsequent lockdowns, and the devastating explosion in Beirut, Horizons has launched the Lebanon Crisis Fund, to provide help for thousands of suffering families.
Horizons International operates five evangelism and discipleship centers throughout Lebanon as well as the Kurdish Church in Beirut. These ministry centers collaborate with over 125 local Lebanese churches to plant new believers into supportive congregations and to mobilize and train the churches for effective ministry among Muslims.
Each ministry center maximizes its gospel impact by adapting to its local community, holistically addressing the spiritual and humanitarian needs of local residents.
