SOUTH LEBANON MINISTRY CENTER

Help us sustain a thousand displaced people in South Lebanon

TYRE CENTER, SOUTH LEBANON, 2009

In 2009, Horizons began supporting brother Mohammad Yamout to move to south Lebanon and plant a church in the biblical city of Tyre. He and his family developed a fruitful ministry over the years, which has become a strategic beachhead for the gospel in the region, and has seen hundreds of Muslims proclaim faith in Christ. Horizons has walked beside this family and their ministry over the years. After brother Mohammad suddenly passed away in Spring 2022, the Tyre ministry, led by his widow, Hanan, has merged fully with Horizons and is continuing to share the gospel and disciple believers in South Lebanon.

TYRE MUSIC MINISTRY

Jeremy and Zaheda Fletcher, our field staff members, are ministering to an increasing number of children and young people at the Tyre Ministry Center in South Lebanon. They serve in the Music Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and Youth Ministry, and are also involved with Refugee Camp Ministry in the region. Many young people and families—particularly those from Muslim backgrounds—are coming to know the Lord!

NEWS UPDATE:

Unfortunately, recent airstrikes damaged our South Lebanon Center in Tyre considerably. The windows and doors are all destroyed, while the majority of the walls are cracked, meaning that the structure is considered unsafe for use. The entire Tyre team, as well as the families to whom they minister, are still displaced in Beirut since South Lebanon is heavily under attack.

We are grateful for their safety and God’s protection, but the loss around us and working to rebuild has been challenging. Your prayers are much appreciated.
