Calling From God
I am from the Middle East country of Jordan where thousands of refugees from neighboring war torn countries have found shelter. Five years ago the Lord touched my heart for these people and called me to love, serve, and share Jesus with them.
The Harvest Is Plentiful
I began to see through the eyes of our good shepherd as He spoke this to me through his Word in John 4:35, "Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest." The many wars and conflicts in the Middle East have brought about desperate situations through which people are responding to the gospel more than at any other period in history!
Equipping Me To Be His Hands and Feet
By God's grace He has blessed me with the ability to connect with people and build trust quickly. As women become vulnerable to share their deepest pain and struggles, God leads me in effective counseling with young ladies and even women twice my age and above! They are suffering from the consequences and horrors of war as well as a controlling and oppressive culture toward women. My desire is to give them hope and strength, help them work through pain and trauma, and share the gospel with them to lead them to the true wonderful counselor, Jesus Christ.
Impact
I met a young Muslim girl named "Melika" who is just seventeen years old. She had a lot of pressure and deep pain from her father. He is perhaps one of the worst fathers I have ever encountered and was cheating on her Mom with young girls close to Melika’s age. Also, he would beat her like a monster, keep her from school, and call her horrible names such as “fat cow”, “ugly”, ”stupid”, and many others.
I had a chance to sit with her on a few occasions and God built a strong relationship between us very quickly. She began to feel comfortable and started sharing with me everything that was happening at home. Once we were doing a Bible study together and she said I want to give my life to Jesus! I told her, let’s keep reading and after finishing, we will talk about this decision. I did not want her to make a decision based solely on feelings or emotions. Afterward, we started praying and she began to cry and shake with great intensity. She was praying that God would change her father and she was able to forgive him for all he had done to her. Melika started asking God to heal her and immediately I could see him working in a powerful way.
Now she is growing strong in the faith and is light and salt in her home. She is full of love, peace, and joy and it pours out from her to family, friends, and everyone she meets. Things haven't gotten easier for Melika, but now the joy of the Lord is truly her strength! I have the privilege of discipling her and watching the Lord transform her life everyday! This is one of many amazing stories I can testify of the Lord working miracles here in the Middle East!!
